Why we verify every caller
Identity verification confirms that the person asking for help is who they say they are, so only authorized people can get changes made to your systems and accounts. A Zero Trust approach assumes no one, inside or outside your organization, is trusted by default.
- The perimeter is gone. Remote work, cloud apps, and mobile devices mean “inside the network” no longer means safe.
- Attackers sound convincing. AI voice cloning lets someone impersonate you with only a few seconds of recorded audio.
- Privileged access needs proof. Password resets and access changes are exactly what attackers want, so they get the strongest checks.
- Compliance expects it. Many regulations require strong identity controls and documented verification.
Ways we may verify you
We use whichever method is set up for you. These rely on multi-factor authentication: proving it’s you with something you have (your phone or inbox), not just something you know.
Text message (SMS)
If we have your mobile number, you’ll get a 6-digit code from (262) 800-7992. The message says to provide the code to your technician. Read it back before it expires (usually 5 minutes).
Microsoft Authenticator
If you use Microsoft Authenticator, you may get a push request. Approve it only while you’re on an active call with us that you expected.
Duo Mobile
If your organization uses Duo, approve the verification push that names TeamLogic IT verification, and only while you’re on an active call with us.
You’ll get an email from noreply@teamlogicit.com with a link to teamlogicitnmilwaukee.com. Click the link within the time shown, then click Validate. You’ll see “Verification succeeded.”
Secure link by text
Instead of a code, you may receive a text with a one-time link to teamlogicitnmilwaukee.com. Tap it, then tap Validate.
Landline call
If we don’t have a mobile number or email, an automated call to your landline reads a 6-digit code twice. Write it down and give it to your technician.
Client Portal
Signed in to the portal? Your technician will either send a Confirm prompt to click before it expires, or text you a 6-digit code to enter in the portal and confirm.
Microsoft Teams
Open the TeamLogic IT app and check your chat or Activity. Either repeat the code shown to your technician or click the secure link.
Keep verification safe
Only respond to verification you expect. A verification code, link, or approval request should only arrive while you’re actively on a call, chat, or ticket with our service desk. If one shows up out of the blue, don’t share it or approve it. Tell us right away.
- Our verification texts come from (262) 800-7992. Save it as a contact so you’ll recognize it.
- Verification links point to teamlogicitnmilwaukee.com. Look-alike addresses are a warning sign.
- Never share a code from a Microsoft, Google, bank, or other sign-in screen. Those are login codes, not verification codes.
- When in doubt, hang up and call the number in your system tray.
